The crisis has given the banks a breathing space

Banks Finansy22-01-2009 crisis gave banks a break in the past year, the Central Bank revoked the license to conduct transactions from 33 banks, most operations were in recent months. Deputy Director General of the Association of Deposit Insurance (DIA), Andrew Melnikov, told the Bigness.ru on the current situation in the banking sector. Bigness.ru: - Andrew G., whether declining wave of hardship licenses to banks? AG: - I feel that a hot time in the Bank of Russia and the DIA associated with reorganization and the liquidation of banks that have received "holes" in the dramatic changes in the conditions last autumn, has practically disappeared. We had three very busy month - October, November and December. During the fall, the Central Bank and we were engaged by banks, which are almost at the same time to stop all payments. Roughly speaking, there were about 40 banks that were once the epicenter of this crisis wave, and the circle almost extended throughout the autumn. By the end of the year working with them has been mostly completed, and now in January we see a period of calm. Long-term whether it is still very difficult to say because it depends on the agreement and the results of thousands of people - is a complex system, the result of which the move is unpredictable.
